Thankyou

To All my Amazing Deviant Art page viewers,
Thankyou so much for all that you have done: the comments, faves, and for just giving me the time to show you the many eccentric aspects of who I am. I can’t seem to put into words how grateful and ecstatic I am for the 1,100+ page viewers. I feel somewhat unworthy of your attention. There have been many times that I have questioned myself and ability as an artist, photographer, and writer. Your words of encouragement, opinions, and criticism have helped me become a better all aspects. It is all the same the work posted here; it has inspired and influenced me to grow in all artistic areas. Today, I see that I have reached a milestone as an member of DA, and I am fully aware that it is all because of all of you out there trying to make your mark in this world. It is an honor to be a part of this online community, and to be in your company.

I want to take A brief moment to notice all of those who watch me and actually like my work.

Secrets...

Sun Apr 20, 2008, 4:43 PM
I have always heard that posting something on the internet, is the equivalent of stating something openly in public. I want to see if this is actually true. As always, I hope and believe that the artwork and journal entries posted on my profile, are looked at with a non biased, to almost non biased view. I have something to tell you my, my wonderful viewers. I have a secret struggle to share, and I know what I am about to say may greatly effect your view of me. Having already faced racial discrimination and rumors of all sorts, I know that this is, yet, another fact that makes me... different. Also, I`m aware that this is a controversial topic to talk about.
I am a lesbian. You are the first to know. I haven`t told any of my circle of friends yet. The somewhat funny part is: I haven`t even told my closest friend. I have my good friend whom I call G(a)linda. (She calls me Elphaba, because I was cast as Elphaba in Wicked.) [link] She has always been supportive in the past and laughs at al corny my jokes and puns! I have always found her to be the most calm, patient and accepting person in my life. (However, by saying this, I do not mean to imply that I want a relationship with her.) It would crush me if I was rejected by her. It`s can be hard to tell how someone could react to a secret, no matter what that secret is.
My parents have always been supportive of me too, and have shown no sign homophobia. If the topic was ever brought up, they would just say, “It`s their choice,” or “It is a very difficult life,” as if I did not already know that, but it`s a different feeling when your talking about someone else. I know it is different when it`s YOUR daughter.
I know that what comes with posting is facing many different views, and I understand this way of thinking deviates from the traditional and religious way of doing things. No one knows me personally here, and I will admit that it has made it easier for me to post this. Please, my work and me with an open mind.
Yours Truly,
Elphaba West

Hello, My (Devious) Pretties,
Today, I went to the mall to get a filter for my camera. However, my day became truly interesting when I got engorged in a book about filters for lends. After making up my mind to purchase the book, I started talking to a woman named Amy Braga. She was looking at a book on portraits at the time and I asked her if she was a photographer. After a few minutes of speaking with her, I learned that she is a professional wedding photographer, who is now working on an in home studio. I had been doing photography for six years, and to my surprise, she offered me a chance to be an assistant. Amy told me that she learned most of what she knows by being an assistant and working with other photographers, and gave me her business card. So now I am happily left to form my own conclusions. This is a new path in my long and winding road of life!
